My World; Australia;
Glimpses of the Ecovillage in the Currumbin Valley. It has won a world award for its Green approach. The Village is surrounded by a sanctuary for wildlife. Cats and dogs are not allowed, because of all the native animals which roam the village freely.

Looks like a bucolic spot, it's good to be surrounded by nature.
ReplyDeleteWe need more green space for native wildlife. Looks like a beautiful nature preserve.
ReplyDeleteLooks like a wonderful place to visit, so peaceful.
ReplyDeleteHow do they keep wild cats, dogs and foxes out I wonder. A great idea though.
ReplyDeleteEG Tour Guide; in Australia are a few of this type villages. They have a great community spirit.
ReplyDeleteGuy, Robert,Janie,Sarah, Yes it is a unique place, all native plants, but also community fruit trees, lots of green space and lovely pathways for strolls or with the bike. the houses have to be build with a certain amount of recycled materials.
Arija, I don't know. People who live there are not allowed to keep cats and dogs, but they are allowed a few chickens. In winter I go for walks there without Billy, he is not allowed to come. I take my camera instead!
ReplyDeleteI love this idea. And what lush scenery. I might have problems with the "no pets" rule, yet can certainly understand why.
