In Australia, woodlands are called "the bush". The vegetation exudes a certain scent, warm and exotic, very alluring, sometimes similar to "la garrigue in the Provence".
I chased a lonely butterfly...that is all I came up with! I think it is a Monarch who has lost its realm!
The bush is also a busy building site.
Some build mansions...this ants nest is as hard as concrete.
like you walk into the bush ... and that ant nest is indeed incredible. not something one would see in my part of the world :) thanks for sharing your world with us. have a wonderful tuesday.
I don't think I've seen an ants nest outside of those on movies, which are all CG anyways. That's amazing how they can build their nest like that, like a fortress.
I was wondering what bush meant whenever I hear it. Now I know. Thanks.
I could not get through to your site for the longest time, lucky I tried one more time. I love the Auzzie bush and all the different bush smells depending on temperature and moisture. You have captured it well.
Great shots of the big and smaal things in the bush. I don't think I've ever seen such a huge ants nest. The picture of the flying butterfly is very nice. I shit several sitting butterflies yesterday. OT: the snake is a viper and it is indeed poisonous, but luckely I got away without a bite.
Wonderful photo Titania, great captures!

All that was missing was the eucalyptus scent.
ReplyDeleteI enjoyed your contribution. There are so many creatures in the bush if you would only care to stop and look
